Raikkonen recovering from knee surgery

HELSINKI: Formula One driver Kimi Raikkonen is recovering from minor knee surgery but should be able to return to his training programme within a month.

Raikkonen underwent surgery on his left knee in Helsinki last week and was expected to remain on crutches for a few days, his spokeswoman Anna Sorainen said.

“It’s nothing serious,” she said. “He only had a minor knee operation which had been agreed upon already before the end of the season.”

Raikkonen, this season’s runner-up to Renault’s Fernando Alonso, is not expected to test for McLaren until early next year. – AP
